The Story of Hickory Glen Sanctuary
Located in the Hilltowns of Western Mass this quiet escape offers campers a break from the fully connected on the go rat race of modern life.
Starting in the summer of 2014 with the first gathering of campers braving the winds and rains brought on by Hurricane Arthur a tradition was born. Each July and some Augusts after we continued to gather and build on our escape.
2023 Marks a special year as we gather together to celebrate 10 glorious July events full of food and friendship.

In keeping with the unplugged vibe we dot the field with tents and brave the elements within our temporary homes
Cooking!
Although camp stoves and grills are options we often prefer the meals we cook over an open fire, from hot dogs to cast iron gourmet dishes

Zale and Elise have been working like a well oiled machine to make sure the next event runs smoother than the last. Elise tackles logistics and planning while Zale makes sure everything is executed correctly.

From the first camp event these two were there no matter the weather. When it comes time for camp clean up and off season prep you can count on the Jabberwockys to be there to lend a hand and get the job done

There is no more important necessity at camp than a cup of coffee. With each year the creature comforts offered by Java Brick have improved. They are also a consistent participant in off season camp prep events
